Chozuya-purification 手水舎

神社仏閣では、お参りの前に手水舎でお清めの仕方を教えましょう。

At shrine or temple it is necessary to purify yourself at purification fountain before praying.

神社やお寺ではお詣りの前に手水舎でお清めするのがマナーです。

I will show you how to do. Please copy what I do.

1. First hold the ladle with the right and wash your left hand.
   まず右手で柄杓を取って左手を清めます。

2. Then hold the the ladle with left hand and wash your right hand.

　次に柄杓を左手で取って右手を清めます。

3. Hold the ladle with right hand and make a cup with the left hand and pour water into it.

　柄杓を右手にとって左手に水をためます。

　Then rinse your mouse. Don’t drink or gargle.

　口をゆすぎます。飲んだりうがいはしないでね。

4. Then hold the ladle vertically and let water out.

　柄杓を立てて水を流します。

5. Then place back the ladle.

　柄杓を元に戻します。
